The Caustic Continuum : Episode #1, "Bill Stickers is Innocent"

(3.7 stars; 3 reviews)

The Caustic Continuum is a show produced by a loose collection of persons creating various forms of media, with an emphasis on Radio Theater. Primary influences are This American Life, Joe Frank, Midnight Voicejail and Old Time Radio. Shows are produced in an “exquisite corpse” fashion; that is, a theme, topic or subject is chosen and the members contribute media which is then edited into an hour long “podcast.” The description of the parameters for the first episode: Bill Stickers is Innocent, an audio exquisite corpse episode Project description: A fictional character by the name of Bill Stickers has been accused of a crime. Each participant contributes a two to ten minute fictional narrative (audio file) defending Bill Stickers. No where in the narrative must the crime of Mr. Stickers be mentioned. “It” may be alluded to indirectly, but we must never know what crime Bill Stickers did or did not commit. Imaginations may go wild as to Mr. Stickers’ character; anecdotes, witnessing, over the top dramatics are all encouraged. Musical backgrounds may be used, but should not be obtrusive, that is, dominate the narrative. http://cc.norelpref.com/

I listen to a bit, can say it was my cup of Tea. But my question is "why is it listed here". This program doesn't fall under OTR-Old Time Radio, It sounds as if it was made in or around "2000". I do like the idea of tryin to get new shows out, but let's not mix em.

This was a lot of fun to listen to, and I admit it was nice to actually get some of the references.
