A series of murders occur at the remote seaside mansion of a millionaire in Florida. The mystery is heightened via local lore of pirates and hidden treasure, not to mention a fabled ancient octopus said to have a taste for the local black population. It's up to grad student Ned Killdare, a budding naturalist and detective, to solve the case, aided by the rich man's pretty niece, Edith. - Summary by Matt Pierard (5 hr 50 min)

Reviews

A good, short mystery

(4 stars)

A short mystery, the plot kept you guessing with just enough suspense to keep it interesting. Very entertaining. The reader did a good job and representing all the different characters. A fun "read".

Couldn't finish

(1 stars)

The reader affectation of a southern accent was irritating and his mispronunciations of rivers and such is absurd. Lastly the plausibility of a coroner to have such skills of investigation is faulty.
