Very Good

Well I have reached the age of 61 and had never read this book! So here was an opportunity to see what was behind this title. I very much enjoyed this book and am glad to have finally 'read' it. It was also very well read by Karen Savage. I am so please to have found LibriVox, my thanks to them for their service and to the readers for giving up their time.

I have only listened to Karen Savage on Librivox, because she has the most pleasant and wonderful voice. In all of the audio books I've listened to of hers, I have never been disappointed. Anne of green gables is a beautiful story for, arguably, any age. I enjoyed it readily even in my mid-twenties. I'm so grateful to Karen Savage for this recording and I'm even more grateful that I can now submit this review and listen to the next chapter of Anne's story with her voice narrating it. :)
Anne, that'sAnn with an e is a must hear.

I read this book and enjoyed it. Then listened to this version, read by Karen Savage and it was for me just so much better. Being male may have handicapped me, but really it was what she brought to the reading. It feels like the period it was written in, real and immersive excellent!
a joy for young and old

What a gorgeous story with such rich and satisfying language. I’ve been playing audio books to enrich my children’s literary diet and imagination but it is me who has enjoyed it much more than expected. What an admirable character for our children to aspire to ....dear Anne of Green Gables. As for Karen Savage’s narration it is second to none...I second all the complements before me she has made many children’s classics a joy to listen to ...thank you Karen.
beautiful classic, wonderfully read

I really enjoyed this story as we watch (listen) to the endearing Anne grow from child to young woman. it was so entertaining and read so beautifully by the narrator. I really enjoyed this book. I can't believe I had never read it. it's inspired me to go and read all the other classics I've missed over the years.
Simply amazing

I had no idea I would love this book so much. Such a fun, inviting story. Anne wins you over even faster than she wins over anyone in Avonlea. A great story for anyone at any age. Karen Savage is one of my other most favorite readers and she didn't disappoint. She gave such life to the story and all the characters. I think I would recommend everyone listening to her read it than actually reading the book themselves. This is a must listen. Thank you so much Karen
Karen Savage a most excellent voice artist volunteer

This is the second time i have listened to Karen's version of Anne of Green Gables. Her enthusiasm and vocal-tonal variations, expressiveness and accuracy bring the auditory story experience vividly to one's imagination. Thank you Karen for all of your obvious hard work and valuable shared talent, it is very much appreciated, as i start the series again for the second time since your initial recording was released on Librivox platform. Love and gratitude âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸
A Classic

I've loved this story since I was really young. I think every time I read it I get something more out of it. I feel as tho when I read it, the way I speak almost changes to suit Ms. Montgomery's writing style. In my opinion it is a classic that should be read by everyone at least once.
