A Perfectly Charming Novel
I was absolutely stunned by how good this book is. The story quickly became so dear to me in a way that I didn't expect. I'm so glad I finally got around to reading this. Ms. Karen Savage's narration simply enhanced an already perfect story. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a supremely charming and pleasant experience.
Well I have reached the age of 61 and had never read this book! So here was an opportunity to see what was behind this title. I very much enjoyed this book and am glad to have finally 'read' it. It was also very well read by Karen Savage. I am so please to have found LibriVox, my thanks to them for their service and to the readers for giving up their time.
Anne, that'sAnn with an e is a must hear.
I read this book and enjoyed it. Then listened to this version, read by Karen Savage and it was for me just so much better. Being male may have handicapped me, but really it was what she brought to the reading. It feels like the period it was written in, real and immersive excellent!
excellent reader, consistent and interesting interpretation
Karen does such a good job in her narration that you forget the reader all together and focus on the story. No greater praise than that can be said for an audio book. the timbre of voice and subtle changes of pace and style for the various characters shows a dedicated and appreciable effort.
Anne of Green Gables
When my wife joined the Lucy Maud Montgomery Society in Leaskdale, Ontario I thought it was time I read her books, listening to Karen's excellent reading was even better. I can see now why Maud has such a worldwide reputation. The was very well written and Karen's reading brought Anne to life. Thank You.
Wonderful book, outstanding reader!
Karen Savage is probably the best reader on LibriVox!! She 'plays' all the parts very well and you can tell who's speaking just by Karen's changing voice. I am a 48yo man and listen to her every night for sleep. You must listen to her Secret Garden and The Railway Children! Perfection!!!
Karen Savage a most excellent voice artist volunteer
This is the second time i have listened to Karen's version of Anne of Green Gables. Her enthusiasm and vocal-tonal variations, expressiveness and accuracy bring the auditory story experience vividly to one's imagination. Thank you Karen for all of your obvious hard work and valuable shared talent, it is very much appreciated, as i start the series again for the second time since your initial recording was released on Librivox platform. Love and gratitude âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸
I've loved this story since I was really young. I think every time I read it I get something more out of it. I feel as tho when I read it, the way I speak almost changes to suit Ms. Montgomery's writing style. In my opinion it is a classic that should be read by everyone at least once.
