The Long, Long Trail

Read by David Wales

(4.5 stars; 98 reviews)

A willful flirtatious girl; a morose family; a dark, mysterious, and (to some) alluring man; lots of horses, guns, honor, love, courage, and treachery in this 1921 pulp western. Max Brand was known for going well beyond the formulaic western. The Long Long Trail is an excellent example of his craft.- Summary by david wales (7 hr 23 min)

A Fun Western Romp

(3 stars)

Full of sexist ideas that were true to the time, but if you can see past that it's food fun. It's definitely not literature. Bot the author's voice is well developed and the chracters are likable. Made a fun summer read. Going to look up more by the author.

l love it could not stop listening.

Different style reader than I’m used to. The reader helped bring the characters to life even if in a subtle way. I will check for more books by this reader to listen to.

Suspenseful!

(5 stars)

Typical Brand novel-beautiful woman, tough, smart, good hearted gunman, fabulous horse, but the last 10 or so chapters had me on the edge of my seat. Ending left you guessing.

BRAND STRIKES AGAIN

(5 stars)

Jess Greer takes his place at the forefront of Brand's offbeat characters. Well done, author and reader.

Excellent story

(5 stars)

A good story , ending was a bit for abrupt, but as always well read by Mr. Wales

Max Brand is confusing

(3.5 stars)

Why does he keep cutting the stories short at the end.
