The Friendly Five
Mary C. Hungerford
Read by LibriVox Volunteers
"There were neither examinations nor graduation exercises at the Coventry Institute. The only ceremony peculiar to the last day of school, except the farewells, was a little sermon from Mrs. Abbott, the principal, preceded by reading the average of reports for the year." Delia, Lily and Kate predict speeches and a visitor... but are surprised at what that visitor has brought them and what he wants them to do for the next year! Suddenly, they can't wait for next term! - Summary by Lynne Thompson (5 hr 37 min)

Reviews
Charming story
Susan
A very charming & entertaining story. I would love to give it 5 stars, but some of the readings detracted from the presentation. If only readers would simply use their natural voices, so many of the books hear on LibriVox would be so much more enjoyable. Readers, please consider that this is not a platform for you to experiment with & attempt to perfect your character voices. Please leave it to the imagination of the listener to provide voices for each character.
Huckleberry Gap
A good old boarding school story of a country girl gaining polish, overcoming scorn, and acting heroically.
