Rudder Grange
Frank R. Stockton
Read by Sibella Denton
This book presents a number of short, comedic sketches of a country life in middle America in the late 1800s. The hilarious twists and turns endear our adorable, naive married couple to the reader; and the orphan servant Pomona - dear, odd, funny Pomona! - is the focus of several of the stories. Imagine a honeymoon in a lunatic asylum, and you’ve got Rudder Grange! (5 hr 54 min)

I enjoyed the story. The writer paints a believable, wholesome tale with a few twists and turns. Reader did a fine job. I was occasionally thrown off a bit by hearing a story, told from a man's point of view, read by a woman's voice. That was certainly no fault of the reader.

I am enjoying this book ('bout 1/2 way thru) but I get confused when a female reads a 1st person novel, and the 1st person is a man/husband. SHE IS AN EXCELLENT READER, but this one should be read by a man .
