Publican Ignatius Coolaha tries to tap into sergeant's sense of thirst Coinciding with the Flann OâBrien centenary, Drama On One re-broadcast Thirst by Myles Na gCopaleen, starring Eamonn Kelly and Thomas Studley. Thirst is a study of after-hours drinking in a Dublin bar. Confronted with a sergeants visit after a very long night of after-hours serving, publican Ignatius Cornelius Coolahan tells a long story of military service in the desert, hoping he can tap into his accusers sense of thirst. Written in 1943, Thirst started life as the first act of a full-length drama which was never completed. It was later published as a one-act play. Produced by Larry Morrow. RTÉ Drama Drama on One
