(4 stars; 5 reviews)

S01 Deadheading [Omnibus] [Julie Hesmondhalgh] Best selling crime writer Val McDermid turns to comedy capers among the carrots, as we rummage through the undergrowth of a murder on the allotments.  Starring Julie Hesmondhalgh and Miriam Margolyes. It's a case for Detective Chief Inspector Alma Blair, the Alpha Detective, her sergeant Jason Trotter, and Jo Blake the crime scene manager. Watch how the women behave towards each other. Rivals? Not quite. There may even be a barely detectable flirtatiousness between them. S02 Dead Clever [Omnibus] [Julie Hesmondhalgh] Val McDermid's second "Dead" comedy crime drama. DCI Alma Blair (Julie Hesmondhalgh) and DS Jason Trotter investigate murder in the Geography Department of an unspecified Russell Group university in the North of England. Where academics rub shoulders and, indeed, other parts of the body with students and administrators. A place where the students think they know everything, the academics know they know everything and the secretaries actually know everything. Alma has worked her way up the ranks from making the tea for the families of murder victims to ordering Jason to make the tea. She knows she knows best. Jason should know better. Huh

(1 stars)

Not for me. I had no clue what was going on and quickly found I had lost concentration in listening. Doesn't grab the listener. Non funny and uninteresting.
