Short Drama Series: Resistance Radio New Zealand 15 Episodes From 21 July 2013 In the not too distant future the New Zealand government is advocating the surgical implant of an electronic chip in the brains of all of the population. The government rhetoric is that ‘linking’ will lead to efficiency gains in health, taxation, banking and an overall rise in productivity. Not everyone is convinced and a resistance movement arises in small pockets around the country. The centre of resistance is an Aro Valley commune where a small community of dissenters struggle to lead a normal ‘un-chipped’ existence... Part 1 Set in the near future where the government is advocating the surgical implant of an electronic chip in the brains of all the NZ populace but small pockets of resistance are setting up around the country. Part 2 While the Aldridge family and the citizens of Aro Valley celebrate the new year, the introduction of the Link-X Bill has an immediate and devastating impact. Part 3 The people of the Aro Valley commune lose faith in their leader Curtis as he struggles to come to terms with his personal loss. Part 4 Ten years have passed and food is in short supply. It's Rowan who cares for his embittered father, Curtis. Rowan is pleased to be promoted but makes some unsettling discoveries and confronts a figure from his past. Part 5 Rowan joins Jayna on her mission into the city and ends up in big trouble. Part 6 Rowan is duped into using the scrambler by Trent Blackmore. Part 7 Rowan helps Jayna to run a diagnostic on Trent's scrambler device before all hell breaks loose. Part 8 Jayna is subjected to interrogation by the NOBs while Rowan finds its becoming dog eat dog in Aro. Part 9 Jayna is subjected to interrogation by the NOBs while Rowan finds its becoming dog eat dog in Aro. Part 10 Jayna arrives at complex eight six six while Rowan has to find a place of refuge in the city for Curtis before he can set out after Jayna. Part 11 Jayna gets to grips with life inside the mine while Rowan has trouble convincing the Resistance to help him find Jayna. Part 12 Jayna, Sabey and Greta come face to face with the full horror of the NOB regime when they are subjected to their first ranking. Part 13 Rowan and Al face many obstacles before they can even enter the mine, otherwise known as complex eight six six. Part 14 Rowan and Al are still searching for Jayna, while Jayna and Sabey crawl through the ventilation shafts to find her father Alan, and a way out of the mine. Part 15 Jayna and Rowan are re-united at last but find they are trapped inside the mine and have to take on the NOB forces to escape complex eight six six.
