Radio Theatre - 25th Anniversary of the U.S.S.R A dramatised radio programme made during World War II by the National Broadcasting Service marking the 25th anniversary of the Soviet Union It contains commentary and patriotic music presenting New Zealand's wartime ally, the USSR in a most favourable light, and drawing comparisons between the Russian Communist Revolution with the American Revolution. The history of the Soviet revolution is retold, using dramatic music, several Soviet anthems and patriotic songs (sung in English) and narration. V.I.Lenin is compared to British wartime leader Winston Churchill and the role of Russia in the current war against Fascism is extolled.
