Irving Berlin 100 (1985)

(4.7 stars; 3 reviews)

Irving Berlin 100 1985 Perhaps no one embodies popular American music better than Irving Berlin (1888-1989), an untrained Jewish immigrant musician whose cornucopia of creations includes “God Bless America”, “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” and “White Christmas”. He wrote seven smash songs for the musical “Annie Get Your Gun” in one weekend.   This programme is a tribute, marking Berlin’s 100th birthday. Producer: Pete Myers Broadcast: May 5, 1985 Radio Netherlands

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

I enjoyed this because it was a half an hour long! The shorter ones are not as enjoyable. 9th of January 2022 from Ireland xx
