Savings Bonds: Radio interviews World War Two WSYR  Syracuse, New York  via The BBC August 1943 An interview with Doctor Richard Farr, Head Nurse Captain Ivy Wadsworth and enlisted man Staff Sergeant Thomas Wagner, from Syracuse, New York Subjects discuss life in the Wolverley Camp and make appeals for listeners to buy war bonds This was the site of a Second World War tented camp for Dunkirk survivors by the sports ground at Wolverley. It was later used as a military hospital by the United States Forces 52nd General Hospital. After the Second World War the site was used at a prisoner of war camp and as a camp for the Pay Corps. By 2010 the site was converted to a sports ground and a caravan park. Third War Loan Drive – September 9 through October 1, 1943. The initial goal was $15 billion, which would require a doubling of the bond sales from the prior drive, with at least 40 million of the 130 million American citizens needing to purchase a $100 war bond.
