Walkabout Into Dreamtime

One River, Many Wells: “Walkabout Into Dreamtime” by Sid Hall Readings: “Mooregoo the Mopoke, and Bahloo the Moon,” an Aboriginal teaching story Marlo Moran, Mutant Message Down Under (1991) Barbara Brown Taylor writes that “Religions are treasure chests of stories, songs, rituals, and ways of life that have been handed down for millennia.” We each draw deeply from our own tradition, and ours is that of Jesus, rooted in the ethic of the Golden Rule and in the spiritual discipline of loving our neighbor. But we are not alone in the world. The Divine Mystery manifests itself in multiple expressions of beauty, bound in different cultures and unique histories, yet rich in teaching and lessons for living: one river, many wells. What can they teach us about ourselves today? Could other spiritual traditions lluminate our own in new and powerful ways? Each of our twelve Sundays in this series will explore a different world religious tradition. Presented by Trinity Church of Austin Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors. No Exceptions.
