Prayers That Move The Heart Of God

II Corinthians 10:3 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. The Weapons of our warfare The primary weapon that God has given us to advance His Kingdom is prayer. If prayer were the gun then the blood of Jesus, the Name of Jesus, Faith, Power, The Holy Spirit and His Glory would fill the chambers. I feel as though I need to work on the heart of the church so that we can change the way we pray and live and conquer because fearful prayers and timid spirits will not make it in this world and will not advance the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. The Bible says that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. Once you gave your life to Christ, His Holy Spirit came in on the inside of you; and His is not a fearful spirit but a Spirit of Power!!! In the Church, Violent men moved heaven to their Favor. Men who understood that: 1)    Our struggle daily is not against the person next to us, but against the enemy we cannot see all around us. Men who understood that: 2)   Spiritual powers could not be defeated by physical means but had to confronted with powerful Godly weapons of warfare. 3)   And Men who understood and believed that the prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective. Knees to the earth is the call!!!! John Knox, a great revivalist in the 1500’s moved Scotland through His prayer.  “Give me Scotland or I die!!!!” The Kings and governors feared the prayers of John Knox Behind every great preaching exists a man who prays. Behind every man who accomplishes great things is someone who calls out on the name of the Lord, who cries out, who lifts up his voice without shame, without shackles!!!! Martin Luther – “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” Prayer is transformative, regenerating, strengthening, and brings heaven into your situation Sidlow Baxter a great pastor from Australia in the 1900’s said "Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons, but they are helpless against our prayers." Through prayers and actions of faith the Book of Hebrews says that many “conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,  quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. Women received back their dead, raised to life again. II Corinthians says “ The weapons of our warfare….”  This tells us that we are at war!!! We are at war for our families, for our marriages, for our children, for our city, for our nation, for our peace, for our sanity, for our world… Pray daily, pray as if you’re the only one who can, Pray believing, and pray expecting. Prayers that move God 1)   Just do it – We need to pray We need to break out of the awkwardness of it and break into the intimacy of it 2)   Pray believing - don’t pray religiously, or robotically. A rough prayer with belief behind it is 1000 times more powerful than an eloquent one made in unbelief. God is not looking for show, He’s looking for heart. 3)   Pray with a purpose – It could be just times of intimacy Go with a goal in mind And once that goal is established find scripture to back up your prayers. 4)   Don’t stop praying Paul even said, “pray at all times” P.U.S.H. 5)   Pray in Jesus name If you pray under your own merit, you won’t be bold, but if you pray in Jesus name, you will gather strength.
