It’s been years since I’ve read Muir. I’d forgotten just how world class he is. The book is enchanting without being sappy like so many “doggy stories.” Anything by John Muir is wonderfully accurate, passionate and eminently readable.

This is an absolutely wonderful short story - my favorite! I have listened to it more than 10 times. It really deserves 10 stars. And if you are a dog lover, it is even better.
