Thornton W. Burgess was a conservationist and prolific author of children's books. His gently humorous stories about the animals of the meadows and woods teach little lessons about getting along with others; they are perfect bedtime stories for small children. (Summary by Laurie Anne Walden) (2 hr 53 min)

I liked that Reddy Fox never caught Peter Rabbit because of Peter's tiny tail. I guess he's thankful now that he has a really short tail. -age 5 I liked how Peter came in every single story and also how most of the time Grandfather Frog always told the story except for the vulture one. -age 8

My son is 8 and we have been listening to Thornton Burgess’s books for a couple years. There are SO many entertaining and educational stories in each book and so many books! We can listen to a couple chapters a night, finish the book in a few weeks, and go to the next book, then start all over again! He doesn’t get tired of them, I’ve actually leaned a lot about creatures! The readers are great for the most part.
