The Art of Money Getting

Phineas Taylor Barnum (July 5, 1810 – April 7, 1891) was an American showman, businessman, and entertainer, remembered for promoting celebrated hoaxes and for founding the circus that became the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
His successes may have made him the first "show business" millionaire. Although Barnum was also an author, publisher, philanthropist, and for some time a politician, he said of himself, "I am a showman by profession...and all the gilding shall make nothing else of me," and his personal aims were "to put money in his own coffers". truly wonderful. Barnum was a George Carlin of his time, a sardonic observer of society not to be overlooked. akin to the classic text art of war, this book bears lessons based upon common sense which, at least regarding business, hold true to this day and will continue to do so. a worthwhile read which leaves behind a feeling of " I totally already knew that but did not have the words. "

Just what you need!

A little monotone, but very pleasant. I encourage everyone that struggles with managing their money, listen to this book! It will help you start managing your money 100%.

great book, bad audio/reader

(3 stars)

the audio from chapter 10 to the end of the book was bad, echo or something. the reader was kind of drab and not that great, but she did make an effort at pitch and pace etc. this book should be given to every child when they ask for an allowance or get there first job (be it mowing the neighbors yard or bagging groceries). sound logical advice and a few cute stories about events to bring out the point of matters. advice on living life, not striving after riches.

Audio quality was not very good, chapter ten even had a sort of echo in the background. Another point is the reader's intonation, which is quite confusing and many times mixes phrases or leaves them unfinished. The content itself did not surprise me, but maybe it's because I've already read similar books. still, always great to have a new experience

Quick, Insightful, Fun!

This was the first audiobook I listened to on the app and it was a treat. PT Barnum'a book content is incredibly similar to modern day books, which only eludes to a consistent trend in what's required to acquire money. It's these nuggets of wisdom and principles that I am after and this book delivered.

A lot of these fundamental beliefs or guidelines, are still applicable today. The narrator Jill Preston is pleasing to listen to, and the author PT Barnum had a lively way of writing his message. It’s not too long of a read and definitely worth it’s weight in gold.

A delightful store of useful information that can be applied to life of today. The reader was great and clear even when her audio became echo like towards the end of the book. Keep of the good work!
