The four series follow Grace Harlowe and her friends through high school, college, abroad during World War I, and on adventures around America. In The High School Girls Series, Grace attends Oakdale High School with friends Anne Pierson, Nora O'Malley, and Jessica Bright. The four promote fair play and virtue while winning over troubled girls like Miriam Nesbit and Eleanor Savell, playing basketball, and founding sorority Phi Sigma Tau. The group becomes friends with boys in their acquaintance: David Nesbit, Tom Gray, Hippy Wingate, and Reddy Brooks, forming "The Eight Originals." (Introduction by Wikipedia) (4 hr 44 min)

pronunciation is important.

Another fun story of Grace Harlowes adventures . However, I wonder if a lesson might be learned from Grace. That is not to give known miscreants a stick to beat you with. Grace certainly always prevails, but I wonder if; but for the authors intervention Grace's readers wouldn't be better off to focus on identifying malcontents and politely avoid their company. I have never seen anyone in my life's experience be able turn around people like Grace does. Makes for a great feel good story, but if these books were intended to guide young persons choices in life, seems impractical overall. Oh , on the point of pronunciation. The performing readers efforts are quite admirable but her vocabulary and subsequent pronunciation of some 46 words are unintelligible. I used a hard copy to decipher many passages. Try any story read by Karen Savage, she is unequaled in reading performance here on Librovox.

This was good, but not as good as the prior books. Still very enjoyable.
