Eliza

Read by Nigel Boydell

(4.7 stars; 15 reviews)

A gentle, yet deliciously humourous series of brief anecdotes, that follow the mundane, though surprisingly hazard strewn lives of our rather pompous main character, and his long suffering wife, Eliza. (Summary by Nigel Boydell) (2 hr 20 min)

Humorous Short Sketches from 1900

(5 stars)

Nigel Boydell does a fantastic job narrating these short stories about a middle class couple in England at the turn of the last century. Just a little spoiler, since I imagine most listeners won't get the point of the joke of the fourth tale, "Miss Sakers," the item his wife is embroidering is a sanitary napkin.
