One of the best Conan tales
Great story, made even better by Mr. Nelson

This was my first Conan book, and it certainly wonât be my last. The story is fun, descriptive, and paints a vivid tale of adventure that will captivate your imagination for hours. Mark Nelson is a fantastic narrator. I could listen to this guy read the phone book. I no longer search authors, I just search Mark Nelson. He has a sci-fi collection on LibriVox that will probably keep me busy for a few years!
great adventure story

this was my first conan book and it was excellent, again very well read by mark nelson. i looked up the book after i finished, as i had the feeling alot had already happened prior and it turns out to be one of the later conan stories written. i would start from the first story and go from there if i was getting into conan
Great if you like this sort of thing

Fred
I like this sort of thing the narrator was splendid and did a masterful job interesting to see the connection between this writer and later sword and sorcery writings and films.

Great story (especially if you haven't read original story it expanded). Not Howard's best, but pretty much a typical good story by him. Well read. The illustration is from original magazine cover, but it is one wimpy Conan.
2nd Favorite Conan Story

Beyond the Black River is my favorite, but this is a close second. First read this in 1980 while in high school, still brings back wonderful memories to this 54 year old man!
