1960-1969 Radio News

(4,375 Sterne; 8 Bewertungen)

News from the 1960's I usually share these via torrent but I don't think all these files are available on archive.org so here's a 1960's news file dump. Plus some talk shows and specials. Any typo or error is mine.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

Clearing Audio File Rights for TV SERIES?

(4 Sterne)

I am working on a new documentary tv series about the 1950's and 1960's for the Discovery Network and trying to figure out the rights situation for the radio broadcasts under the WW11 Archive: http://archive.org/details/1960-1969RadioNews I am not interested in the music -just the news portions so we can provide an authentic background sound in various scenes. Specifically, I want to inquire about WKNR Detroit – Keener 13 (which is now Fresh 100 and owned by Clear Channel). The WKNR links are on the right side of the screen on RadioNews and I am interested in #37 -#40; #44; #45; #52; #70; #82. WKNR has been dark for years. The new station owner has no jurisdiction over WKNR. So I believe the news portion might be public domain. Would anybody be able to help me clarify this? Thanks for your time and consideration! Wow! Thanks a million!

What no-one posted a comment! I will be delighted to be the first then. I JUST found this room by chance surfing Google even though I list to Archives show quite often. Am just now listening to a 1960 Shepard after Dwight Weise's weather forecast of puffy clouds over Times Square! :) And I briefly heard a Monitor January 1960s show. The rest of this has to be priceless. Thanks to the person who posted all this.

ORAL HISTORY

from age 10 through 14 i would record with mics, later patch cords onto 7 inch reels i had space shots, top 100 of the year hits, etc. as i grew up i discarded the hobby and switched formats. this collection is incredible and could be a college course in history i'm glad someone saved this stuff thanks

Great stuff

Recordings from great moments in world history - the Cuban Missile Crisis, Eisenhower's closing address, discussion of the Berlin wall by reporters and JFK, Vietnam and LBJ, King and black rights, Apollo 12's landing.
