The Bryant family - widowed Mrs. Bryant and her children Benjamin, Caroline ("Line" for short), and little Daisy - is on the thin edge of poverty due to debt incurred when Mr. Bryant was alive. We follow the family, especially Ben and Daisy, as they help shoulder some of the burden. Prominent in the story are children's dolls, which are the means to some of the family's income. - Summary by TriciaG (8 hr 4 min)

Out of Poverty
Stuart Gathmam

Mr Bryant ran up $1000 in debt through addiction to alcohol before surrendering his life to Christ. He went on to lay a solid foundation for his family, but died while they were still in poverty. This is a study both in how to escape poverty, and how to help the poor without destroying their spirit.
A great "read a chapter an evening" book

As usual Pansy does an excellent job with an entertaining and moral story. This one is particularly cute as it is a story of a very young girl, her wooden "stick doll" and a loving family as they work together to get out of their difficulty after their father dies. this would make a great " read a chapter an evening" book for families or teachers.

Of course this book is wonderful. Pansy books transcend time AND teach biblical truths that are just as importan. I especially appreciate learning how precepts are explained. ie going to the circus. (wow!!!) however.....TriciaG's Rufus makes me want to reach through my phone and ychoke e him (in Jesus'Name. don't we ALL know a Rufus or two? this is my 3rd time through the series. :-)
