Times are hard in Frankfort. Defeat in war, weak leadership, trade blockades and a starving population lead to a restive and unhappy citizenry. The one thing Frankfort does have is the best three sword-makers in the country, who form a guild to try and find solutions to the economic problems assailing the city. One day, a stranger appears: an instructor in swordsmanship and the craft of sword-making. Despite not being licensed to carry a sword in the city, he promises the guild he can help them make their fortunes and lead the city out of the recession. - Summary by Lynne Thompson (11 hr 44 min)

Great story

(5 Sterne)

This is my first experience with the works of this author, it was way better than I had expected. It was well written, great plot with lots of twists and turns, plus a happy ending. most of the readers did a pretty good job. It was a fun and entertaining story, that kept me guessing.

GOOD IN SPITE OF ITSELF

(5 Sterne)

A unique narrative wherein two people of opposite temperaments and actions come together for love of their country. Two detriments. First, many of the conversations are extremely stilted. Second, the conflicts with the ironworkers are monotonous, reminding one of a teamsters election. But. it is still a good read.

A real gem!

I had never heard of this book before and was truly delighted!

A delightful surprise! Would have preferred a few more chapters.

I've been there

I found the story extremely interesting as I was stationed in Germany and do almost every town that was mentioned. It is seemed to be simi- historical. The storyline kept me busy recollecting the history of the Frankfurt. The archbishops in the area influenced events in Frankfurt. the characters were well defined and many of them became very endearing. I found it to be an enjoyable story. I think you'll like it.

another great story

that would be 10x better with one reader...
