Saturday-Night Theatre: The High Frontier Sat 16th Jul 1994, 19:50 on BBC Radio 4 FM Roger Stennett's play is based on the real-life story of cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev. On board the Soviet space station MIR, 200 miles above the Earth, cosmonaut Sergei Rasskazov is preparing to return home after 376 days in space. But while he's been away the old Soviet Union has collapsed, and with it his beliefs and dreams.
