By far the best investment of your time

I just stumbled across this book, and after trying first two chapters, I immediately went ahead and downloaded all chapters. this book is all that one needs to be master of one's self. just completed first read(listen) will be doing second pass pretty soon. :) A big thanks to the narrator.

The Original Self-Help better than all modern day copies

"William Walker Atkinson (December 5, 1862 – November 22, 1932) was an attorney, merchant, publisher, and author, as well as an occultist and an American pioneer of the New Thought movement. He is also thought[by whom?] to be the author of the pseudonymous works attributed to Theron Q. Dumont and Yogi Ramacharaka.[1] He wrote an estimated 100 books, all in the last 30 years of his life. He was mentioned in past editions of Who's Who in America, in Religious Leaders of America, and in several[quantify] similar publications. His works have remained in print more or less continuously since 1900." I heard the entire book today. It gives great advice on what one should think in their minds to get out of a dead-end low-effort life. The book itself won't change your life though. It's all up to you. You must put in all of your effort to flex every mental muscle you have to focus on get stuff done. Two things though: I disagree with what he thinks about emotions being distracting. Only if you are thinking and feeling things about something unrelated. To be emotionally involved in and driven to do the tasks you set out to do, synergizes your ability to focus on things and keep the energy going to work on them all day and get stuff done. The other thing is: Anyone who is reading this and living in a dead-end kind of life, the best advice I have for you is to read college level textbooks on anything and everything that interests you. From history, to philosophy, to autobiographies written by great dead people (no modern ones, don't read any of Trump's bullshit, he never lifted a fat finger in his life), teachings of ancient philosophers, biology, anything scientific. Pickup a basic algebra or pre-algebra book, and spend all day solving all the questions. Get something that's just all addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division, and just do hundreds of them a day. Think of reading advanced literature and doing hundreds of math problems as different machines and exercises at a gym. Do it all day long for a month straight. Then when you seek out that ultimate life goal you want to accomplish, you'll have the mature, critically thinking, mathematically fit mind to take on any task you pickup and complete it.

A must go through to form a better understanding of the inner Self, the mind and will power. It is also helpful for getting a clear idea of Higher self. The beautiful elaboration for preparing us to achieve success in any field of life. Highly recommended for lifting yourself out of daily mental rut.

I found a lot of building blocks here that helped boost my power to more of a normal level. The cover describes its contents and I needed to know there actually is hope. It aided my mind that likes to seek.

Dissapointing

A very strange self help book. I expected a more scientific approach, but the book is primarily a pep talk mixed with a portion of muted occultism.

excellent book..it emphasizes a lot on our Will...and it confirms the saying " when there is the will there is the way".

The power of concentration

This is the first best book that I’ve listen on the subject of concentration. It doesn’t talk about ideas that are too philosophical to be understood by common man. The examples and scenarios given are from daily existence. Furthermore, the narrator has vividly depicted the essence of the message in the book. I am looking forward to another book narrated by this narrator.

This is what you need to hear

A little bit of woo towards towards the end, but it's FULL of very sound advice and a blueprint for getting anyone out of a rut and in better control of their mind. Written and published over 100 years ago, so it's got that wisdom of the Greatest Generation. Give it a shot. I guarantee you'll be impressed.
