Emma Goldman (1869-1940) was an anarchist known for her political activism, writing and speeches. She played a pivotal role in the development of anarchist political philosophy in North America and Europe in the first half of the twentieth century. Born in Russia, Goldman emigrated to the US in 1885 and lived in New York City, where she became a writer and a renowned lecturer on anarchist philosophy, women's rights, and social issues, attracting crowds of thousands. Goldman was imprisoned several times for "inciting to riot" and illegally distributing information about birth control. In 1906, Goldman founded the anarchist journal Mother Earth. In 1910, she collected a series of speeches and items she had written for Mother Earth and published Anarchism and Other Essays. In addition to a comprehensive look at anarchism and its criticisms, the book includes essays on patriotism, women's suffrage, marriage, and prisons. (summary extracted from Wikipedia) (6 hr 57 min)

Her views are Astounding. I went in thinking it may be old World views. Absolutely Perfect for What is going on in your backyard Right Now. This Almost sounds like it was written for 2014-2015 amazing......

I pray to no god nor bow to no man; I do, however, wish and work toward the fulfillment of self-rule via what is human instinct to help one another within small localized voluntary communities. This instinct has been so terribly oppressed by government, corporations, capitalism's private military - the police, as they certainly do not work for the people but only to protect corporate interests, but oh yeah corporations are people too, how twisted is that? And of course its very own 'cops of the world', i.e. the people of our military who are used and exploited by the corporations to further their own agendas no matter the cost in lives, vets permanently disabled by everything imaginable including physical trauma, mental trauma, plus the aftermath of every 20th & 21st century's wars from mustard gas to agent orange to mandatory experimental vaccinations & drugs, radiation, and so much more. The last three of which are the cause of "Gulf War Syndrome", a pleasant sounding euphemism for an utterly horrid too-many-symptoms-to-list mix of diseases for vets and severely f****d up effects that pass on down our genetic chain to our children and even somehow infect many our spouses. So yeah, the entire system can rot in its own hell so we the people can live in peace & health.

Many of the issues that are discussed in this text are issues that continue to this day. This is my first exposure to Emma Goldman, and I can easily say that she has earned my interest. Some of the topics that were discussed in the later sections I can't say I agree with, but I am a man and have a vastly different prospective. That being said, I appreciate her views and how well she expressed them, gives me something to ponder at the very least.

Almost everything she talked about in this book still happens today, this could have been published today. I hope this won't be still true in 2021, 2031, or ever again.
