Henry Stanton’s 1922 book Sex – Avoided Subjects Discussed in Plain English is intended as a frank (although conservative and moralistic) guide to human sexual behaviour and relationships. It is partly a self-help book, partly an attempt to relay the scientific knowledge of the day in relation to sex and reproduction in a way suitable for popular consumption.

I'm just surprised some people can actually read. The book? A charming period piece. I love this stuff! Ignore the bozos... you knew the book's title would bring them out of the woodwork.

Some parts are vary crude and old in nature and values... Too old school and rigit at thought... Knowledge provided is nice and good.

The book is short and easy listen. Chapter 8 was very good outline to apply to 2 people committed in a relationship. You won't hear these moral guidelines anymore unless the author is firm believer in marriage as sacred commitment. Some of the content is dated of course, but not bad considering the age of the writing.

the recordings are of good quality and well spoken. the book itself is a fantastic snapshot into the ethos of the day. while there are countless scientific inaccuracies and archaic worldviews, it was a good listen. the book contains themes of racism, sexism, and eugenics.

It is terrifying to live in the world of today, where sexual promiscuity has increased to abhorrent levels. This is a book written in a world where morality, honor and discipline had not yet been lost.
