But to be with her he must shed his soul, which goes off to have adventures of its own. Will forbidden love endure? -- This reader has also recorded the three other tales in “A House of Pomegranates” which can be found in the LibriVox Short Story Collections, volumes 37, 38, and 39. Marvelous penmanship with verses such as this, as it concerns itself with the innate & various qualities of the fisherman's soul; not just a love story. There's *dark* magic in the air with this tale. If you were still with us Oscar Wilde, I would've put you on my bucket list to earnestly stalk you out & have an in-depth discussion with over a freshly brewed cup of earl grey. Or if you're out of tea, maybe straight absinthe? Btw I don't know why so many people incessantly whine over the quality of the reader's voice...he sounds fine to me. Too many listeners expect every narrator to sound like Brad Pitt or Elle Degeneres not realising that all this is being given to them FOR FREE. The fellow who's narrating this story has passed away, so he cannot even defend himself against the nitpickers, the whingers or the tormenters. IF YOU HAVE A HEART, LEAVE HIM ALONE!!! 😡

the reader, at first, was odd to listen to... but once aclamated to, the strange tale took over and delighted my imagination. The only complaint I had was the ending was a little mbiguous. I was found wanting a firmer ending. a story, like a movie, is only as good as its ending.

I guess you just have to be in the mood. Rich, elaborate imagery, luxurious descriptions, but I couldn't pay attention and I didn't hear half of it
