The journal of William Bradford, who served five terms as governor of the Plymouth colony, is an indispensable document of the events of early American history. His eyewitness account includes the stories of the Pilgrims’ sojourn in the Netherlands, the voyage of the Mayflower, the hardships of the New World, relations with the Indians, and the colony’s growth from an endangered enterprise to a thriving city. This edition of Bradford’s Of Plimoth Plantation presents the text in language made more accessible to the modern reader (Summary by D. Leeson). (11 hr 14 min)

this history is not taught in school, it doesn't fit their agenda ...as no truth will.

great book and a good reader

Price for a Nation

(4 Sterne)

These folks certainly must have had more "Christ" in them than me! sooo many times were they cheated and they turned the other cheek! Maybe that's what's missing in our society today...more turning of the cheek! With no built up resentment !!

Excellent

Essential listening in order to understand our American origin story.

Defend the Truth

(5 Sterne)

They really worked hard and steadily for their life here, and held their freedom and love of God very high, and were blessed greatly for it. It is encouraging to hear accounts of such strength of character and helps me remember to hold on to the same. If we expect to continue with the same blessings, we must defend the same both publicly and privately. I am grateful that the history is written and that I found it to listen to.

Worthwhile

(5 Sterne)

If only to put our own hardships into perspective, this well-read account is eye-opening. But it also shows clearly how much the Pilgrims were willing to sacrifice for the freedom to worship God. We usually think all went well after the first good harvest and Thanksgiving festivities. Read this and be amazed at the year upon year of perseverance and injustices suffered, and gain more appreciation of what it took to lay the foundation of "one nation under God."

Excellent

well read and really interesting account of the founding of a new country. there is a great deal of the unknown at least to me about the lives of these puritan English
