The Best Reader!

(5 Sterne)

I first heard Karen Savage's voice whilst listening to The Railway Children, and since then, I have only listened to books recorded by her. I am an impatient reader, always wanting to skip the "slow" parts, hence the fact that I usually come away with a shallow understanding of the book I have read. Listening to Sense and Sensibility was much more enriching for me than if I would have read it. I am also monstrous fond of Pride and Prejudice by Karen Savage.

Finally "read" favorite movie's book

(5 Sterne)

I have loved the movie starring Emma Thompson and hugh grant for years and finally got around to this. I picked this version because I first heard Karen savage in little women. She captures the spirit of the characters well and has a good voice for each character - male or female.

Beautiful reading! This is also a great book with lots of rich characters. I'm amazed at home well Jane Austen is able to bring her people to life. This story is no different. Eveyone is so true to life. And I agree with the other comments that the movie doesn't even begin to do the book justice.

The first half is better than the second half. Expectations are raised but I was quite disappointed by how the plot and feelings went a bit "all over the place". Not so satisfying. Where did all that sensibility go? Austen seems a bit bored toward the end. Karen Savage is an excellent narrator however!

great book, great author, great reader

(5 Sterne)

Karen Savage's voice is easy and very nice to listen to and her reading is flawless. S&S is full of discussions of social rules and constraints, heartbreak and a great deal of humor. I love it!

A wonderful reading of a classic

(4,5 Sterne)

very little to say that has not already been said. a slight note though. I do like pride and prejudice and sense and sensibility however, I do think that they are very similar in certain aspects

one of my ultimate favorite readers.

more details are told than any movie. Love hearing thisa story especially by Karen. haven't seen anything new from her in a long time. I hope she is doing well. selfishly hope she comes back.

Jane Austen is never a bad read

ms. Savage is such a great reader. she did just enough voice changes to make it easy to differentiate the characters and still keep the book pleasant to hear. I love her voice!
