This is a lovely story about Whistlin' Dan, his horse, his dog/wolf and the girl who loves him. The story contains it's fair share of outlaws and shoot-outs, but is also full of man’s sense of loyalty and honour. It is read by Richard Kilmer in a clear, measured and thoughtful way. Thank you.

Max Brand was the best of Western writers and this, the first story in the Whistlin' Dan series, shows his mastery. This is a well written and unpredictable adventure. It has excitement, gun fights, good guys and bad guys with an even sprinkle of romance. Great story read by an excellent reader.

The book was well read by Richard Kilmer. The story is fairly unique. Whistling Dan is quite a character, although somewhat unbelievable. overall a very good Western and a good listen.
