She had not been brought up in America at all. She had been born in France, in a beautiful château, and she had been born heiress to a great fortune, but, nevertheless, just now she felt as if she was very poor, indeed. And yet her home was in one of the most splendid houses in New York. She had a lovely suite of apartments of her own, though she was only eleven years old. She had had her own carriage and a saddle horse, a train of masters, and governesses, and servants, and was regarded by all the children of the neighborhood as a sort of grand and mysterious little princess, whose incomings and outgoings were to be watched with the greatest interest....

Not Her Best Work

I know it's only a short story, but somehow little Elizabeth has no personality. She has so little curiosity about her new home, and at age 11, surely she must be feeling stirrings of rebellion against her strict regimen. She just isn't real. I didn't have any problems with the narration.

Lovely story's

All the story's all nice, but my was little Saint Eliazabeth . It was so touching ❤️ and yes the last Reader at the last Chapter was ( I think ) chewing was gum. That's why I can't rate the anther half of the star. Another wise awesome!

they are all pretty good raeders and good short stories but the reader of the last story seems to be chewing on something and it can get a bit annoying.

(4 Sterne)

A collection of cute stories. Each complete story is read by a different reader, and they're all good.
