All those stars are for the excellent reader whose voice is so pleasant I would gladly listen to her read the LA phone book. As usual, the story seems very long and filled with the moralizing so popular at the time it was written. The solid upright man ends up with the extraordinarily beautiful and virtuous maiden. Unfortunately, the character of Detective Gryce is not fleshed out in this book, making just a cameo appearance.
Great story and fabulous reader

This was a well written mystery and love story. I did not have an inkling of the person who committed the crime until the end. And the conclusion of the book made me smile and feel very good. The reader has such a wonderful voice and gave the story the right feelings and perfect handling of the subject.
Wonderful, entertaining, utterly magnificent.

Excellent. There is a chapter 35 at the end that is not shown in the list but it will automatically begin to play after chapter 34. Wait for it because it makes the end of the book fantastic.
Pretty Decent Plot

The plot was interesting, although a bit obvious at times. The reading by Laura Victoria was excellent. I would probably give the story 4 stars, but must give more based on the quality of the recording.

Narration was excellent. Story as befitting time written, has good descriptive and character development. Did not guess the ending and enjoyed the various threads characters followed to conclusions.
beautifully narrated delightful story

It's not very often I don't figure out the answer but this was well done. Laura Victoria does a superb job of narrating
