i remember the day i was just listening to Gildersleeve and the announcer came in to announce a strike at Pearl Harbor in "HaVAee" . i was paralyzed. later in that episode, The announcer came back in and announced that troops who had been released were recalled to their induction stations. ... i went through the whole range of emotions like we did the morning of September 11, 2001, when all we had were questions and quick updates (before the videos started feeding). then listening to how advertising changed and how the plot to the show itself changed to encourage conservation of rubber, clothing, grease. War Bonds. how Kraft immediately changed their marketing, to the point that using Kraft margarine, Pabstette cheese, and Kraft Dinner actually meant helping the war effort. This is such a favorite to me. i sound super corny, But it's true. This show reminds me of so many things that were right about America. Things we have lost sight of. I'm grateful for the chance to go back & remember.

I have to agree with Leatherneck. This, and certain other old radio shows, offer an insight into how American thinking was durning WWII. I was a "War Baby",born in 1940, and I know; I was there. Warhawk 40.

This is a great opportunity to not only have a fun time listening to old radio but also small peak into the home front during World War Two. Great sound quality.

Thank you!
