Piers Langland is a mild mannered paint salesman with one burning passion. He aspires to be a famous author. Each November he looks forward to entering The National Novel Writer Month competition. To be a winner in NaNoWriMo he must write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days, a tall order for any writer. Turns out, it is an especially tall order for our hero. Join Piers as he struggles to choose a topic for his novel before he can begin his epic task. Vampires or space opera, romance or pulp fiction, what should he choose? Unfortunately, the greatest object holding him back is Piers himself. Whilst this novel might be summarised ostensibly as a whimsical tale about a baffoon and his facile attempts to overcome writers block, there is no whimsy in the depth of writing achieved. I particularly appreciate the language, which presented a stark counterpoint to the silliness of the plot line. Craig's narration was also spot on. Thank you so much, Keith! As an accomplished PB.com author yourself, your praise is all the more special. As I really liked Borrowed Time, we can now be mutual fans - how cool is that?

Finished The Prisoner of NaNoWriMo in roughly two weeks at work. Great book! My co-workers would stare at me when I'd laugh at something I'd heard. Great stuff!!
