Short Science Fiction Collection 045

(4.4 stars; 110 reviews)

Science Fiction is speculative literature that generally explores the consequences of ideas which are roughly consistent with nature and scientific method, but are not facts of the author’s contemporary world. The stories often represent philosophical thought experiments presented in entertaining ways. Protagonists typically “think” rather than “shoot” their way out of problems, but the definition is flexible because there are no limits on an author’s imagination. The reader-selected stories presented here were written prior to 1962 and became US public domain texts when their copyrights expired. (Summary by Gregg Margarite) (8 hr 27 min)

Bad Narration

(3 stars)

I’m sorry to point out but some readers are so bad that it takes away what should be good stories to listen to and by there makes for unpleasant listening. It is such a shame that LibriVox acceptance of numerous readers for what in my opinion should be One reader for the entire book,Not many readers for the said be piece. 🙁

great night time listening!

(5 stars)

these are all awesome stories! good readers! and of course includes the awesome late Greg Margarite. Also the long length makes for great night time listening.

A fair mix of stories and readers

(4 stars)

I guess that some of the readings are approaching 15 years old themselves now so the sound quality of some isn’t as good as others. Some readers are brilliant and some less so. Some of the stories are repeats from previous collections. I skipped a few for these reasons but it’s still a great listen

excellent stories
