Another amazing reading by Mr David Incredible Voice Clarke

(5 stars)

A great set of short stories by an amazing writer, but truly brought to life by the amazing reading and voice skills of David Clarke. It's truly a pleasure to listen to the reading, it transports me right back in time into the London where and whence these stories were set. Truly mesmerizing. I do hope Mr Clarke will find the time and energy to lend his fabulous voice to further readings of the same caliber. Thank-you very much!

Excellant Reading!

Wonderfully written book, of course. Sherlock Holmes never fails to entertain. But the reading of the book, done by David Clarke, is what makes the audiobook even better. Mr. Clarke did an amazing job!

WELL DONE!

Very well read and "acted". Excellent diction, enunciation and of course the British accent the the Holmes stories should have! Much enjoyed!

Quite Good.

I am enjoying rediscovering the entire catalog of Sherlock Holmes stories and novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. They don't disappoint. They are as relevant in 2018,when I am listening to them, as they were upon their initial release. The added bonus is the quality of the narration by David Clarke. His accent and voice really enhance the aural experience. I'm only just getting into this journey through Mr. Doyle's books and am pleased to see that many, if not all of his Sherlock Holmes stories/ novels have Mr. Clarke as a narrator. I think that I I shall seek those editions of the books out. Thank you to Librivox, David Clarke and, of course, the late Sir Arthur Conan Doyle for a wonderful experience. I look forward to more in the future.

Thanks David.

So well read and fascinating stories to listen to again. I am so grateful to the generousity of narrators.

Great reader. At times it even sounds like there are many readers with his dramatic voices.

love the narration voices!

The narrator takes a different voice for women and other male characters other than Watson and Sherlock, which is great! I find his male voice really funny, makes it sound like jovial characters! His british accent is perfect for the story. The only thing is he speaks really fast, but since we can lower the speed (i do 50 %) it's not really a problem. i also enjoy it being the same narrator the whole time. Sound is also nice. About the stories themselves, well they are nice but not amazing. Listen at least once.

Characters that have stood the Test of Time for so many Reasons..

A great reading of Doyle. Clear diction, no ambient sounds/distractions, great pacing, just a pleasurable listening experience all-round. The timbre of his voice reminds me so much of Rupert Everett (meant as an amazing compliment). The most believable English accent(s) I’ve heard yet (no offense meant if he is British). Major Kudos for this dramatization. I look forward to listening to the rest of the Canon of Conan Doyle from this Orator.
