Voices: New Media Fiction brings together the pioneer short fiction podcasters. Experimenting from putting short-short fiction to novellas over their podcasts, these writers were the first to test the new medium for storytelling. Some wrote specifically for podcasts, some read previously published fiction, and some read entirely new stories. Some listeners asked if they could get just the stories in audio form, and that request brought about this podiobook. Cory Doctorow tells us a story about a post-apocalyptic government run by sysadmins and James Patrick Kelly narrates a story of a strange reconciliation. We've collected 18 stories for you, the first short fiction to go out over podcast, and look forward to bringing you more.

Mur, Thanks for this great series. I've only got one problem - I almost missed the turning on the motorway whilst listening to "Timmy, Jimmy and the Beast"! Although I don't particularly like Paul S Jenkins' voice in the Rev Up Review, he can really tell a good yarn. In ...

I really enjoyed the stories in this compilation. Some of them were quite amazing and I'm glad they were included. I wish that in the description for each chapter on the Podiobooks website that the original URL's of the author were included for easy reference to find more works by ...

I've been listening wto this series with great interest; I'm really enjoying the variety of stories in it. One thing I noticed, however -- there seems to be a problem with #19 (listed as "The Merry Husband"). When it downloaded into my itunes, it was a 30 second blurb thing ...

Good stuff overall. Some of the stories aren't to my taste, but there are some real gems in this collection. My only complaint is that it's not always clear when a story is only part one of two, it just ends with no indication that there's anything more to it. ...

As much as I love the longer novels on podiobooks, a collection of short stories like this is something of a treat. Its certainly let me discover authors that I'd never heard before and I've enjoyed hearing and reading more of their work. Have to disagree with the comment about ...

I liked most of the stories, even the songstress. Ok. I can't spell, but I can sort of apreaciate what th singer goes through since I am one myself. I also liked the thing about the sys admins. That really hit close to home as that can really happen!

I absolutely loved this. There were several I had heard before, but still loved to listen to them again, and some I had never even heard of. Awesome job to all who put this together!!! May I have some more please? :o)

Just started this book, and have to comment on Barry. Just a great little "superhero" story. As a comics fan, I really enjoyed this tale. But I hope there is a sequel down the line. Or maybe it's already available?
