Short Stories (Version 2)

This is a collection of short stories written by Fyodor Dostoyevsky (Dostoevsky), who is arguably better-known for his lengthy, contemplative novels. Several of his trademark philosophical, political and religious themes are interwoven throughout these short stories, for example: "Dream of a Ridiculous Man" critiques European nihilism; "The Crocodile" has notes of Russian political commentary; and "Bobok" is critically acclaimed as top-rate Menippean satire. Dostoevsky also provides a Christmas story ("The Heavenly Christmas Tree") with a biting social commentary. - Summary by jvanstan (9 hr 25 min)

Dramatically read! Some accented characters, each kept consistent. Nothing over acted or weak. consistent volume. thank you narrator. The story is so nice. Seinfeld comes to mind! Yes our vapid lives, the time spent between outings.

This reader was excellent and had me laughing out loud! Truly captured the pathos and absurdity of the stories. Excellent work sir. Hysterical.

Catching Up on some of the great writers and figures of the past. Very good narration and insight to the author’s suffering.

Great stories and reader
