Lady Windermere's Fan: A Play About a Good Woman is a four act comedy by Oscar Wilde, published in 1893. As in some of his other comedies, Wilde satirizes the morals of Victorian society, and attitudes between the sexes.

The action centres around a fan given to Lady Windermere as a present by her husband, and the ball held that evening to celebrate her 21st birthday. (Summary by Ruth Golding)

intelligent and observed

Oscar Wilde. What a shame he is not alive today. We need his wit and wordly power. A tale of sacrifice and love and the usual poke at pomposity. The audio quality was poor in parts and superb in others. Several readers sounded as if they were working inside a steel water tank. But thank you all for an entertaining read.

Great play

I have read this play before but listening to the full cast recording was a great way to revisit it. I appreciate all the time and effort taken by these volunteers! I did have some issues with a few of the male voices. In particular, Mr. Hopper's voice sounded as if he was speaking in a tin can.

Most plays just weird read to me.

I could take the different characters but "moves to table", or "walks across room" are distraction. I can watch the play, and the other version on here is dine with one voice, which smooths it out.

A light hearted twisted tale well rendered

all the readers have done an exceptional job. Just that the voice of Mr Windermere was a little muffled. Thanks for delightful listen!

(spoiler!) unexpected good behavior from a woman who made bad choices earns the love of a "good" woman who very nearly makes the same very bad choice.

Delightful

A wonderful dramatic reading by the various readers, though I wish they had agreed on a single pronunciation of Mrs. Erline's name.

wonderful delight!

Outstanding team effort with all the readers! A humorous short novel. A classic you will love.

loved it! It is as if he experienced these situations in life and put them to pen.
