(5 Sterne; 2 Bewertungen)

A Date with Judy was a popular teenage comedy series that was on the air from 1941 to 1950. The show began as a 1941 summer replacement for Bob Hope's program and featured 14-year-old Ann Gillis as Judy. In summer 1942, Dellie Ellis (who later changed her name to Joan Lorring and had a long acting career) was in the lead role.portrayed Judy Foster when the series returned the next summer. The series had one more summer run in 1943 with Louise Erickson, and then into the regular schedule. She continued in the role until the end of the series. Like many popular radio programs, the character was brought to other media. A movie of the same name was made in 1948, and a television series was broadcast from 1951 to 1953. A comic book version was published from 1947 to 1960. * * * These recordings are part of the Joe Hehn Memorial Collection. Mr. Hehn (1931-2020) was a pioneering collector of radio recordings when the hobby emerged in the 1960s. Digitizing his collection of reel tapes and discs is the effort of a wide range of North American volunteers, and includes assistance of some international collectors. The groups supporting this effort with their funds, time, technology and skills are the Old Time Radio Researchers and a small group of transcription disc preservationists who refer to themselves as the "The Knights of the Turning Table."
