I thought I had figured out early on in the novel, one of the secrets of why Marsha had left her wedding day. I was close but still not quite. This story has so many twists and turns, it will keep you guessing right to the end. The narrator Cathy Barratt, did a really fabulous job. I think I detect a Canadian accent, very lovely. I will look for other narrations of hers.

just when you think you have it figured out.... nope! lol it twists all the way until the end, literally the last few sentences throw you for a loop.. definitely worth the long story for that ending. enjoy

On the day they are supposed to be married, Marcia flees from Bert, leaving a note saying they can never be married. Bert engages his friend, a lawyer and investigator, to find where she has gone. The investigation leads Lester to the house next door to Marcia's, where he begins to suspect something much more sinister is going on than just a missing wife. Why did Marcia run away, and why does it appear that Marcia's mother is in collusion with those that live next door, who might be responsible for Marcia's disappearance? The reader is excellent, and so is the quality of the recordings. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed this mystery very much! My third book by this author and these characters. I thought I had the mystery solved early on but was way off base! Many great twists & turns and a very good mystery to the end! Very well narrated by Care Barratt of whom I have only heard two books narrated and hope she does many more for I really enjoyed her reading! Very good story and narration, I really recommend this to all mystery lovers.

The story is engaging, but the constant references to the spotless, peerless bride who disappeared are exceedingly over done. A side plot felt unconnected to the main plot, and the resolution of the mystery was predictable. On the other hand, I did enjoy the interaction between Lester and Godfrey. Overall, just tolerable. Excellent reader.
