Diamond the little boy sleeps in the hayloft above the stall of Diamond the horse. The loft is snug but drafty, and after plugging a hole in the wall one night, Diamond is scolded by the beautiful Lady North Wind for closing her "window" into his room. Thus begins their friendship. Spirited away by the North Wind, Diamond embarks on a series of adventures both near to and far from his home. His pure heart and his simple, loving spirit guide him as he journeys to the back of the North Wind and home again. (Summary by Meredith Hughes) (8 hr 57 min)

Amazing, well written Fairy Tale for adults and teens. This author put in many hours of thought into presenting his religious core beliefs into such real actions and happenings within a framework of laced sugar fantasy you indeed swallow them down painlessly and beg for more !!! This is one of the very few classic authors whose every work needs not just reading but rereading your entire life long ! Thank you dear volunteers for bringing this book freely to those of us no longer able to read books for our selves !!!

It was a great mix of readers, I particularly enjoyed Mark F. Smith’s passages. Incredible piece of literature and the audiobook format brings it to life all the more.

Not bad!

I loved the scenes with North Wind to the point where the other chapters often felt unnecessary. Thanks for putting up another good read!

Good readers, and great story!!!

very preachy

(1 Sterne)

This book starts as a pretty story. Then at the end of Chap 9 (spoiler alert) the boy goes "to the back of the north wind." The same place drowned sailors go. When he returns to this world, it is repeatedly noted that he "looks like an angel," acts like an angel. Understandable, since he went to heaven and came back. Half of each chapter is filled with bad poetry. Chap 36 is a beautiful short story on its own.

first 2 narrators outshine others

(2,5 Sterne)

If the first 2 narrators (Meredith Hughes & Kristin LeMoine) had read the entire book, I would have rated this recording 5 stars. The other narrators are not bad, only not as stellar as the first 2. Still, thanks, volunteers!
