The usual abrupt, but happy, ending. Brand + Kilmer # a winning combo everytime.

At first this seemed like a typical revenge western and I almost gave up on it. Most of the revenge took place early on in the book. I kept at it and I'm glad I did. There was a LOT more to come with lots of interesting things plot twists. This reader was, as usual, first rate.

There is plenty of action with just enough romance to satisfy most Western fans. The down side to this story was the abrupt ending. I wonder if Max ran out of ideas as he approached the end of Chapter 35?

I absolutely hated the ending because it was so abrupt! It had so much that didn't even happen. What happened with the girl and her outlaw? What happened after they escaped? It was very well read by Richard Kilmer, he will be missed!!

Looong story but adventures of interest throughout...a few good surprises...well read...the word “escape “ seems a challenge for several readers who see the word as X CAPE. I recommend this story and it’s old west characters
