Mark Nelson could read a shopping list and make it interesting. Brilliantly read...you just want to hear more! A very good story, a little naive which adds to its charm. Give it a listen!

I honestly enjoyed this journey to Venus, it is well written book that keeps you captured into this voyage, But as always I give half of the charme of this beautiful novel to our best narrator who is able to describe every situation with perfect narration, reading with such emotions, giving each character his own destictive and well balanced voice and I can just say yet another THANK YOU MARK! For all your work! that gives me such pleasure and joy of listening every journey you took us on.. I hope that you will keep doing this because I swear you are the only narrator i am completely devoted to ,and who's reading transcend the words to build new worlds and characters within them into moving pictures while I listen to your work. I am so extremely glad to have come across this author made all the more complete by the perfect voice of Mark Nelson. It is hard to comprehend that this story was written at the start of the 1900s with innovations and insights that must have been so advanced for their day...yet we can now take in our stride today. The start of the Space Opera genre....and a most enjoyable and riveting example this proves to be. Such imagination. Happy to recommend....

I wasn’t sure if this was intended as satire or homage. It seems like four bumbling idiots end up on a journey in space marking terrible decisions which they then get out of by pure luck. One character even comments on their incredible luck in the story! I did enjoy it, I was laid low in bed for a couple of days and this did keep my spirits up nicely. Mark Nelson’s reading is perfect

I enjoyed the story taken in the context of a good SciFi story in an age where 'white man's burden' was still a dominant theme. it should be obvious to anybody that there is no intent of malice in this book towards indigenous people, or an attempt to strengthen the theme of white supremacy. The book has to be taken within the context of its time. If this bothers you, don't read it.

A very intriguing story line. I was a little disappointed the end came so fast. It almost seemed lile the author got tired of writing amd just got to the end as fast as possible. As always, Mark Nelson was a great reader.
