Father Knows Best 111 Eps
Various

(111 Episodes) "Father Knows Best," with Robert Young as father, is an Old Time Radio Situation Comedy, broadcast during the early to mid 1950s. Depicting the 'typical American' household, the radio show had a strong following and it went on very (I might add) successfully to television, becoming as popular as a 1950s and 1960s B/W TV sitcom, as was its radio counterpart! (NBC & CBS) Primarily sponsored by Maxwell House Coffee.... "Your father thinks it's the best (coffee), and ....Father Knows Best!!" Enjoy! OTR * def gp ddh
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

radio of yesterday so much more entertaining than what is broadcast now. even the commercials were better. right now i have #139 playing and noticed the commercial for caffeine free coffee is has the name of the coffee muted each time the announcer says it? why? seems silly to me :o( i think the commercials are just as important as the story.
Robert Young Did Well As "Father Knows Best"

This episode had good audio clarity which made it an extra pleasure to listen to this fine program. I was an original listener when the radio series started - 1949 - and later, after we obtained a television set in April 1957, continued make it part of our life.

Hello, Mr. Benny, a great honour to meet you sir. Here's a work-around for the problem of the short zip file: In the address bar at the top of your browser, when on this page, it reads: 'archive.org/details/FatherKnowsBest45Episodes' Replace the word 'details' in the URL with the word 'compress', so that it reads: 'archive.org/compress/FatherKnowsBest45Episodes' Now hit the enter key, and you will be able to download a 781Mb zip file of the entire page. Besides the mp3s, you will also have some xml files and other little page-related items in the zip file; those can just be deleted. I hope this helped, and give my love to Mary, Rochester, Dennis, and Phil. Heaven must have an amazing radio station.

A year ago I introduced my 4 and 5 year old (then 3 and 4) to old time radio shows. "Father Knows Best" is their favorite and there isn't a night that goes by that we don't play it at bedtime We even listen to the Christmas Program episode on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Thank you!!
ZIP File has only one episode

This is a very nostalgic radio show for me, and the quality and sound are great. I love the fact that I can enjoy these great shows whenever and wherever I want. My sight is not as good as it was when I was young so listening to these stories is just wonderful.

This is a great show. It's funny and it portrays an average American household in the 1950's. They sponsered Post, Maxwell House and more by saying,"Mother, is "blank" the best "blank" in the whole world?" "Well, you're Father says so, and Father Knows Best!"
My favorite running gag

I laugh every time the script calls for Bud to come downstairs and the sound guys make the most ridiculous racket possible, so over the top, ending with a big thud-crash. It never gets old.
