Transcribed some of the host's lines from episodes.. don't know when I would add to it, so may as well put it up now. Some are made before an episode, and some after (-o-). This place is acting up today maybe I should wait. Well, anyway.. Death is a Double Crosser -------------------------- Hmmm? Oh you don't like that pretty lady hanging from the chandelier? Oh we'll fix that. We'll cut her down and nail her to the wall. Then she'll be a pinup girl. -o- And when the state executioner gets him, he'll be fit to be tied. In a noose. Poor Harry Smith. What a life. A smith caught between a hammer and an anvil. ================================= [Creaking door] Good evening friends. This is your host to welcome you thru the creaking door into the inner sanctum. Corpse without a Conscience ------------------------------ Come in, come in. You mustn't mind that covered body over there in the corner. That's Oscar our bashful corpse. You see, we covered him up because Oscar said he didn't want to be seen dead in here. And those folks sitting on the coffins. They just came in to rest their bones. Sort of a skeleton crew, you know. Oh we're having a big party here tonight. This is your host to the inner sanctum welcoming you to another half hour of mystery and terror guaranteed to take ten years off your life. Don't just stand there come on in. We've been fixing up the place making it more homey. Yess... see that beam over there with the rope hanging down? You just stand on the table, put your head thru the noose, and...-- that's right. For the convenience of anyone hanging around after the broadcast. [Mary] I wish you wouldn't say things like that. You're right Mary. I'm a bad host. I invite everyone to hang around and there is only one rope. I guess we will have to hang together instead of hanging separately. -o- [Mary] I'm glad he is at rest now. Don't be so sure Mary, that guy needs a tag on him.

I remember listening to these radio shows in my very early youth, stretched out on the floor while my grandmother crocheted and listened with me. I felt so deliciously frightened. These programs are still delicious. I work long hours at my computer doing repetitive work and these make the day fly. I really love how the lack of video frees up my mind to supply images from imagination, and leaves me free to multi-task..not staring at a screen. The clarity of the recordings is quite good. They are not muffled or riddled with static or dropped out sound. The commercials are charming too. What ever happened to Carter's Little Liver Pills?

I appreciate the effort put into restoring and uploading these episodes of Inner Sanctum. A lot of ones I'd come across earlier were very muffled or distorted, so it's nice to have some that are clear. Inner Sanctum is a great OTR show with its gruesome stories and the banter between Raymond and Mary the Lipton Tea spokeswoman.
