WWII News 1945-02-25 Walter Winchell

(5 stars; 1 reviews)

This is a contemporary amateur home recording of a live WWII-era radio news broadcast (see note below). This is the February 25th, 1945 installment of Walter Winchell's program of news and commentary, presented in Winchell's characteristically sensationalist style. Topics covered include the American bombing of the Japanese Imperial Compound, Russian military gains in Germany, and the imposition of curfew in the US. There is a gap near the end of the program where the original recorder skipped a commercial, and there is some fading and speed variation throughout. The only information on the disk label is "Walter Winchell Sunday, Feb 25, 1945".

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
