The conclusion of The Astreya Trilogy. Lindey takes Astreya, Cam, Damon, and Arneb to Matris, only to discover that much has changed since she left home. Suspicion and distrust surround them. Astreya and Lindey begin to resolve their difficulties, but a gossipy old man on a horse misrepresents the past, and all five must flee aboard Arneb's boat. Once outside the shelter of the hills surrounding Matris, the group discovers that the Men of the Sea are searching for their navigation stones, and they think the Village where Astreya was born has them. Astreya must arrive in time to avert a massacre. When the great black ship reaches the headlands of the fjord, Astreya must confront the worst and the best aspects of his inheritance before he can unravel his past and lift The Wanderer's Curse.

Excellent Story

(4.5 stars)

Very good, well written and well read. All three books are just as good. If I had any complaint, it would be that the story is over. I'd love to actually see at least a summary of how things wrap up in all the final plans the characters have at the end, how things were resolved with the women of Matris, for example. As it is, it's still pretty good. Would definitely recommend to others.

I squealed just a little when I saw this had been released. And I'm 59 years old....

Gr8 Trilogy

Awesome ending, so Sad it's. over

Elated in Borneo

(5 stars)

So very sad to have come to the end of this most enchanting trilogy. Seymour is an absolute master narrator and his ability to give life to all his characters with such individual personalities and traits is a sheer delight. You will not be dissapointed to follow the coming of age journey of Astreya in which he struggles to find meaning in his life amidst percussion, lost loved ones and a sense of not knowing his own past and the challenge this impinged on his confidence and self worth. Ultimately, this is a trilogy about destiny and that with grace and eyes forward there is hope for everyone, no matter their circumstances or starting point. Thank you Seymour. I have been touched and whilst sad to end this trilogy, look forward to listening to the other novels you have written.

Fantastic Series

(5 stars)

This is a great end to an amazing trilogy! It’s definitely YA but it’s still a great ride. If you haven’t “read” the first 2 books, you should read those first. It’s not your usual trilogy, it’s more like one book that was split into 3. So Book One: The Voyage South. Book Two: The Men of The Sea and finally this book. Hamilton often extends the duration of past events. Months instead of weeks. Weeks instead of days etc. Still it’s a great series and I wish there were more. A prequel series would be great!

Compelling story

(4 stars)

Story: 5 stars Reading: 4 stars Editing: 2 stars Author's reading was good, albeit inconsistent at times. The flow of the story was occasionally interrupted by the author re-reading a line (should've been edited out) and also by external sounds like scratching himself. But the story made up for it and left me wanting more.

So much Potential

(2.5 stars)

The story, beginning with the first book, and on throughout all 3, is creative, compelling, sometimes exciting, yet convoluted, even confusing. I'd say a talented writer & gifted narrator, such as Mr. Hamilton, deserves an editor with just as much talent, to help bring this story to its fullest potential.

The first 2 books of the trilogy had a beautiful girl, a swashbuckling yet misunderstood hero, adventurer on the high seas, magic, and plot twists and turns. Who could ask for more? I'm betting this new book, the final in the Astreya Trilogy will be even better than the first ...
