Absolutely delightful

(5 stars)

I began listening to this recording before it was completed...just to see what it was like. I was hooked. Though the first chapter was a bit of a detail overload, as the story progresses it gets more and more difficult to stop listening. Oh, and the recording was simply superb! Thanks Lizzy. :)

Sir Walter Scott at his best

A great book by a great author read by an exceptional reader!

(5 stars)

great story and to top it off the reader has an extremely sexy and pleasant voice.

chapter 7 of the tallsman

(3 stars)

I am reading this for school and i was asked to read chapter 7, But i found no chapter 7. Instead i found two chapters entitled chapter 9. I clicked on the first chapter 9 the one below chapter 6 and it turned out to be chapter 7. Other than this issue i think its a fine recording.

Narration is superb

Thanks to the narrator for her time and patience in recording this book. She did a great job. Unfortunately, this book is about as interesting as watching paint dry. The pace is nothing short of glacial. The plot expands further and further without making any connection. I couldn’t get past the 8th chapter.

GREAT ADVENTURE

Scott has a knack for weaving engrossing tales. The reader was superb.

DO NOT START LISTENING TO FIRST SECTION AS YOU ARE HAVING A MEAL! you will lose your appetite or worse. just started reading. its about the Crusades. They say Richard the Lionheart was a great king. While the first section is said to be a myth, there is historical documentation that King Richard had his knights and armies commit horrible atrocities against muslims and jews. I liked the second chapter where the european and muslim engage in one on one combat and then have a truce and share in a Oasis in the middle of the desert.
